Avro 504K, G-CYEI in flight.
The Avro 504 was a First World War biplane aircraft made by the Avro aircraft company and under license by others. Production during the war totaled 8,970 and continued for almost 20 years, making it the most-produced aircraft of any kind that served in any military capacity during the First World War. More than 10,000 were built from 1913 until production ended in 1932. Wikipedia

Avro 504K, RAF (Serial No. H9555), one of several included in the Imperial Gift of aircraft to Canada, it later became G-CYFG with the Canadian Air Board. Canada Aviation and Space Museum, Ottawa, Ontario
This Avro 504K was manufactured in 1918 by A.V. Roe and Company Limited (Avro) in the United Kingdom. It passed through the hands of several American owners, including James H. "Cole" Palen of Rhinebeck, New York, who purchased it from the Roosevelt Field Historical Aviation Museum in 1951 and used it in flying exhibitions. The RCAF purchased the aircraft from Palen in 1961 and later restored it. It was used in RCAF air demonstrations in 1967 before it was retired to the RCAF's historic aircraft collection. Transferred to the Museum in 1968, it is one of several rotary-engine aircraft in the collection. (CA&SM)

Ex RAF H9717. Part of 1919 Imperial Gift. Category A accident at Camp Borden, Ontario on 14 November 1921. This registration was applied to one of the 504Ks re-built in the 1960s for the National Aeronautical Collection. Toured airshow circuit in 1967.
Aircraft was partially ex RAF D8971, ex civil register CF-CYC, plus some new pieces. Rebuilt at CFB Portage and CFB Trenton by No. 6 Repair Depot in 1966, first flight at Portage in November 1966. Soon moved to Victoria, BC for practice flights and development of Golden Centennaires show. On civil register as CF-CYC from 20 May 1970, registered to National Museum of Science and Technology. Now loaned by the National Aeronautical Museum, Rockcliffe, to the museum at CFB Borden. Kept airworthy, taxied regularly and occasionally flown. Still there in October 2008 and in June 2012.
