It is signed by the late Bill Bryant RAF who was the navigator of that aircraft piloted by Bob Boorman RCAF. Philips was killed when his Avro 504J Trainer caught fire during a solo flight and crashed near Welby, Lincolnshire when he lost control of the aircraft while attempting to land it.
