Second World War Fighter Squadrons

Large dots are the base where a squadron formed (its first base); small dots are the bases it moved to. Where the records give a squadron's full movements the dashed line follows them in order; for the others only the first and last base are known so far, and places entered later appear here by themselves. Several squadrons often shared a base, so a numbered disc stands for that many squadrons: click it to see them all. Use the year slider (or Play) to see which bases were in use each year from 1932 to 1946, the country list to look at one country, and Full screen for a bigger map.
