1917-07-27: Kilgour died in Avro 504, B-966; when the elevator controls failed. He put it into a spiral, using the rudder as an elevator, but eventually spiralled and crashed from 5,000 feet out of control. His passenger, 2Lt Charles Henry 'Harry' Williams (British) was badly injured, including a broken leg.
