428 Ghost Squadron (Usque ad Finem) RAF Middleton St George. Halifax BV aircraft LK 739 NA-P was struck in the fuel tanks by flak twenty minutes before reaching the target of Berlin, Germany. The pilot turned the Halifax for home but was stuck again by flak. The fuel loss doomed the return flight and the aircraft was abandoned near Tilloy-et-Bellay, about fifteen KM north-east of Chalons-sur-Marne, France
