61 Squadron (Per Puram Tunantes). Lancaster aircraft PA 162 missing during a daylight operation against Troissy-St-Maximin, France. Flying Officer F.O. Gilmore, P/Os R.E. Sutherland, H.D. Thomson, and Flying Officer E.R. Durant (RAF) were also killed. One of the crew, not Canadian, missing believed killed, and one Canadian, Flying Officer Forbes, was taken Prisoner of War.
