It is signed by the late Bill Bryant RAF who was the navigator of that aircraft piloted by Bob Boorman RCAF. 2 Air Navigation School, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Cpl. Leslie, Sgt. M. Pawlowski, LAC.s A.W. Hawkes (RAF), and J. Ambler (RAF) were engaged in a night navigation exercise and were all killed when Anson aircraft it 11659 crashed in the ocean five miles west of Cape Egmont, Prince Edward Island.

2 ANS (2 Air Navigation School)

Nos. 1 & 2 Air Navigation Schools offered four-week courses in astronavigation and were the last step for Air Observers.

The RAF schools, Nos. 31, 32, and 33, provided the same training as Air Observer Schools.

2 Air Navigation School was disbanded at Pennfield Ridge April 1942.

Unit was reformed in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island February 1944.
