78 Sqn RAF (Nemo Non Paratus) RAF Linton-on Ouse Halifax II aircraft BB 236 EY-B was coned by searchlights and hit by light (leichte) Flak and crashed at Am Friedenshügel, Flensburg, Germany. Flying Officer GH Gillies (RCAF) was killed. Initially buried near the crash site, Flying Officer Gillies was exhumed and reburied at the Kiel War Cemetery, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.
