433 Porcupine Squadron (Qui s'y frotte, s'y pique) RAF Skipton-on-Swale, Halifax III aircraft HX 269 BM-J lost on an operation to Schweinfurt, Germany. Outbound near Frankfurt at 20,000 feet, the aircraft was coned by searchlights and is believed to have gone out of control while taking evasive action. The crew abandoned the aircraft before it crashed
