Warrant Officer 1st Class Clarence Albert Hunt (RCAF) evaded capture briefly until captured 1942-09-22 and sent to Stalag 344. After Liberation, he was safe, back in the UK 1945-04-04

158 Squadron (Strength in unity) RAF East Moor. Halifax Mk II aircraft BB 205 NP-B was lost returning from an operation against targets in Bremen, Germany. Having been coned by the searchlights of 2/Reserve Flakscheinwerfer Ableilung 269 (Werfer 28)and struck by flak from 1 & 2/Schwere Flak Ableitung 163 (v), 1-3/Reserve Flak Abteilung 615, 1/Reserve Flak Abteilung 607 and 3 Reserve Flak Abteilung 265 as it passed over Bremen. The Halifax was not shot down but the damaged engines later forced the crew to abandon the aircraft over the Netherlands before it crashed at Ter Idzard
Warrant Officer 1st Class Clarence Albert Hunt (RCAF), Flight Sergeant Leroy John Soper (RCAF), Sergeant Robert Henry Dawson Bren (RAFVR), Sergeant Reginald James Cantillon (RAFVR), Sergeant David Fozzard Readman (RAFVR), Sergeant John Joseph Reid (RAFVR) and Sergeant Frederick Caldwell (RAFVR) all survived to be taken as Prisoners of War
