158 Squadron (Strength in unity) RAF East Moor. Halifax Mk II aircraft BB 205 NP-B was lost returning from an operation against targets in Bremen, Germany. Having been coned by the searchlights of 2/Reserve Flakscheinwerfer Ableilung 269 (Werfer 28)and struck by flak from 1 & 2/Schwere Flak Ableitung 163 (v), 1-3/Reserve Flak Abteilung 615, 1/Reserve Flak Abteilung 607 and 3 Reserve Flak Abteilung 265 as it passed over Bremen. The Halifax was not shot down but the damaged engines forced the crew to abandon the aircraft before it crashed at Ter Idzard, Netherlands
