426 Thunderbird Squadron (On Wings of Fire) Linton-on-Ouse, Halifax VII aircraft NP 741 OW-K lost during a daylight trip to Wanne-Eickel, Germany when hit by Flak. The pilot, Flight Lieutenant PL Buck AFC (RCAF) maintained control long enough for his crew to bale and went down with the aircraft, which crashed at Weedeweg road, Dordrecht, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands. He survived the crash but died later of his injuries.

Pilot Officer KJ Dugdale (RCAF) survived and evaded until December 24, 1944, then was captured and taken Prisoner of War. Please see Buck, PL for complete casualty list and flight detail
