158 Squadron (Strength In Unity). Aircraft was shot down by flak and crashed onto a dyke at Wapenweld (Gelderland) 10 km SSW of Zwolle Holland. Warrant Officer F.H. Blake was also killed and five of the crew, not Canadians, missing believed killed. Warrant Officer Webber had been interned in Spain on August 27, 1942 when his 15 OTU Wellington aircraft went down; he returned safely to the United Kingdom on December 31, 1942. Addendum: Halifax aircraft DT 795 (NP-N) missing since take-off, nothing heard since. Five RAF members of the crew, Sgt.s T.W. Trollope, W.D. Hawkins, J.C. Jones, P.H. Eldridge, and G.S, Walters were also killed.
