425 Alouefte Squadron (Je Te Plumerai). Halifax aircraft LW 390 crashed twelve miles south of Arras, France at Sousatre Pas De Calais during a night operation against Stuttgart, Germany. Pilot Officer Waite maintained control of the aircraft long enough for his crew to bail out, he went down with the aircraft. Five Canadians, FSs Redman, Gammon, Gibson, Powell, and McDougall taken Prisoner of War. One of the crew, not Canadian, missing believed killed.
