78 Sqn RAF (Nemo Non Paratus) RAF Linton-on Ouse, Halifax II aircraft W 1036 EY-J was coned by searchlights and shot down by flak over the target at Flensburg, Germany, near the Danish border. FS TE Turpin (RCAF), Sergeants JK Gregory (RAFVR), Sergeant RH Johnson (RAFVR), and Sergeant SS Waldman (RAFVR) were killed. Sergeant GE Morrison (RCAF), Sergeant JH Hunt RAF, badly injured and Sergeant K Markillie RAF were taken Prisoners of War. There were two observers on board for this operation.
