7 Squadron (Per Diem Per Noctum), Pathfinder Force. Stirling aircraft R 9149 crashed at Elan, France. Pilot Officer Tomlinson maintained control of the aircraft allowing his crew to jump to safety; he went down with the aircraft Two Canadians, Sergeants J.R. Cox and V.A. Fox were taken Prisoners of War. Four of the crew, not Canadians, missing believed Prisoners of War. Sergeant Fox was killed in April of 1945 during a P.O.W. march.
