619 Squadron. Lancaster aircraft W 4127 was shot down at Poix-de-la-Somme during a night operation against La Chappell, France. Sergeants J. Atkinson, J.W. Randall, R. Thompson, Pilot Officer P.H. French, and Flying Officer J.S. Thomson (RNZAF) were also killed. One Canadian, Sergeant Hortie, was either an Evader or was taken Prisoner of War. Addendum: Atkinson, Randall, Thompson, and French were RAF and Sgt. Hortie (RAF) was an Evader.
