51 Squadron (Swift And Sure). Halifax aircraft LW 497 missing during night operations against Stuttgart, Germany. Pilot Officer J.F. O'Dowda, Squadron Leader L.H. Eno D.S.O., D.F.C. (RAF), Sergeant J.O. Everitt (RAF), and two others of the crew, not Canadians, were also killed. One of the crew, not Canadian, was taken Prisoners of War. Addendum: Halifax aircraft LW 497 missing during night operations against Stuttgart, Germany. P/O.s J.F. O'Dowda, B.S. Uppington (RAF), S/L. L.H. Eno D.S.O. D.F.C. Sgt. J.O. Everitt (RAF), and F/O. L.F. Clarke (RAF) were also killed. One of the crew, not Canadian, was taken Prisoner Of War.
