576 Squadron (Carpe Diem). Lancaster aircraft ME 810 was shot down over Arnhem during a night attack against Sterkrade, Germany. Flying Officer D. Fuller and FS R.A. Jack were also killed. Four RAF members of the crew missing believed killed. Addendum: Lancaster aircraft ME 810 (UL-K2) was shot down by a German night-fighter aircraft. F/0. D.W. Stewart (RAF), Sgt.s D. Ernest (RAF), J. Kilvington (RAF), and E.H. Morgan (RAF) were also killed.
