158 Squadron (Strength in Unity). Halifax III aircraft MZ 352 did not return from a trip to Ardouval, France. Warrant Officer B.P. Upper and five RAF crew members, Sgt(s) C.M. Ashford, H.E.L. Craze, J.H. Whitham, FS E.W. Bellhouse, and Flight Lieutenant J.A. Platten were also killed. This complete crew were all buried in the same collective grave.
