626 Squadron (To Strike And Not To Yield). Lancaster aircraft ME 774 failed to return from a night operation, an attack against Vierzon Junction, France. Pilot Officer W.F. Pocock, Flying Officer L.J. Bemaski, Sergeants J.N. Gordon, and A.G. Barker were also killed. Two of the crew, not Canadians, missing believed killed. Addendum: Sgt.s N.D. Bishop (RAF) and H.C. Greb (RAF) and were also killed.
