625 Squadron (We Avenge). Target - Essen, Germany. The crew of Lancaster aircraft PA 174 were returning from the target when they crashed at Weeley Lodge, Clacton, Essex, England. P/Os L.A. Tweter, R.N. Armstrong, Flying Officer J.V. Collingwood, Sergeant J.A. McKendry, and one of the crew, not Canadian, were also killed.
