158 Squadron (Strength In Unity) RAF Lissett, The crew of Halifax III aircraft HX 356 NP-G (nose art "Goofy's Gift") were engaged on a night bombing practice flight when their aircraft crashed two miles west of the runway at Lissett, Yorkshire, England

Flying Officer A Sharp (RCAF), FS WM Freeman (RCAF), FS GWH Patterson (RCAF), FS GW Stone (RCAF), Pilot Officer CW Britton (RCAF)(USA), Flying Officer WW Cook (RCAF) and Sergeant ES Powell (RAFVR) were all killed in the crash
