Whitley aircraft BD 349 caught fire at 11,000 feet, went into a dive at 2,000 feet and crashed in the North Sea off Berwick, Scotland. FS, T.B. McGee and three RAF crew members, Sgt.s, J.E. Millar, C.E. Hughes, and P/O. R.T. Meek were also killed. "Sergeant Scott has no known grave, his name is inscribed on the Runnymede War Memorial, Englefield Green, Egham, Surrey, England.
