207 Squadron (Semper Paratus). Target - Hamburg, Germany. Lancaster aircraft PB 428 returned from the target and was in the landing circuit when it was in a mid-air collision with another Lancaster. Aircraft PB 428 crashed and burned at Bratoft near Skegness, Lincolnshire, England. FS Rye, Pilot Officer W.G. Armour and five of the crew, not Canadians, were all killed in PB 428.
