106 Squadron (Pro Libertate). Lancaster III aircraft JB 612 ZN-U missing during night operations against Salbris, France. Flying Officer L.M. Falkins, Sgt(s) D.G. Allen (RAF), P. Friel (RAF), C. Stephenson (RAF), and A.A. Taylor (RAF) were also killed. Sergeant J.F. Smith (RAF) evaded. There were two 106 Sqn aircraft lost in the same area on the same night, (Lancaster I LL891 ZN-B), please see Stubelt, RF for detail and crew list.
