76 Squadron RAF (Resolute) Home-on Spalding-Moor, Halifax III aircraft LW 636 MP-X had just taken off for an operation t0 Stuttgart, Germany and climbed out to about 600 feet, when it stalled and crashed at Spalding Moore, England carrying its full load of fuel and incendiary bombs

Pilot Officer JL Richards (RCAF), Pilot Officer R Sirluck (RCAF), Sergeant PC Bates (RAFVR), Pilot Officer FC Flitcroft (RAFVR), Sergeant GH Hawkins (RAFVR), FS CA Rye (RAAF) and Sergeant R Tipaldi (RAFVR) were all killed.
