53 Squadron. Liberator aircraft crashed. Warrant Officer Pudifin had been shot down on July 30, 1943 by an enemy submarine while in a 53 Sqdn. Liberator aircraft. The Canadians in the crew, Flying Officer Irving, Pudifin, and six of the crew, not Canadians, were all interned in Portugal for a short period of time.
