61 Squadron (Per Puram Tunantes). Lancaster aircraft W 4111 was shot down near Cologne, Germany, during a trip to Rheinberg, Germany. FSs J.L. Blair, A.B. McLellan, Sergeants F.W. Kidson, and J.H. Woolgar were also killed. Two of the crew, not Canadians, missing believed killed.
