280 Squadron. The crew of Warwick aircraft BV 336 were engaged in an air-sea search when they crashed in the English Channel four miles south-west of Whitby. Squadron Leader E.A. Good, Flying Officer W.W. Coons, Warrant Officer W.V. Crockett, and two of the crew, not Canadians, were also killed.
