Took off for Air Sea Rescue Search from RAF Thonaby at 16:40, in company with two other Warwicks of the squadron, for a search of the North Sea near the Dutch coast.

On return the aircraft flew into a hill in bad visibility at High Bridge Stones, Sleights Moor, 4 miles south west of Whitby, Yorkshire
