97 Squadron (Achieve Your Aim), Pathfinder Force. The crew of Lancaster aircraft ND 415 were returning from operations over Brunswick, Germany and were in a mid-air collision. Their aircraft crashed near East Kirkby at Revesby Village, England. Flying Officer W.B. Jardine, Warrant Officer A. Dunae, and four of the crew, not Canadians, were also killed.
