76 Squadron (Resolute). Halifax aircraft DT 556 missing over enemy territory, cause unknown. Pilot Officer G.G. Stanley, Squadron Leader J.L. Fletcher D.F.M. (RAF), Sergeant L.A. Trinder (RAF), and Flight Lieutenant A.T. Wheatley (RAF) were also killed. Two of the crew, not Canadians, missing believed killed.
