58 Squadron (Alis Nocturnis). The crew of Halifax aircraft DT 636 were on an anti- sub patrol over the Bay of Biscay when the Captain reported by wireless that they were under attack by fourteen enemy fighter aircraft. Pilot Officer J.M. Clark and Warrant Officer W.A. Tennant were also killed. Five of the crew, not Canadians, missing believed killed.
