83 Squadron (Strike To Defend), Pathfinder Force. Lancaster aircraft R 5622 was shot down at Weisengrund, Mies, Czeckoslovakia. Warrant Officer A. Podo'sky, FSs R. Beaven D.F.M. (RAF), J. Rodgers (RAF), Sergeant M. Kleinhorn (RAF), Pilot Officer F.C. Milton (RAF), and Flight Lieutenant W.B. Wells (RAF) were also killed. This was Flying Officer McLellan's 34th operation.
