106 Squadron (Pro Libertate). Lancaster aircraft R 5573 crashed in a cornfield near St Trond, Belgium during operations over Cologne, Germany. FS D.H. McLeod, Sergeants R.C. Barrett (RAF), S. Leigh (RAF), and R.W.L. Muir (RAF) were also killed. Two others of the crew, not Canadians, missing believed killed. Flight Sergeant Pilot McLean was buried at St Troncl, exhumed, and reburied in the War Cemetery, Heverlee, Brabant, Belgium.
