630 Squadron (Nocturna Mors). Lancaster aircraft ME 650 missing from a night trip to Koenigsberg. Pilot Officer W.J. Fingland, Warrant Officer W 1. Carrier (RAAF), Flight Lieutenant E.G.W. Bowers (RAF), Sergeants A.A.M. Langridge (RAF), G.R. Stott (RAF), and L. Thompson (RAF) were also killed. These seven airmen were all buried in the same collective grave.
