550 Squadron (Per Ignem Vincimus). Lancaster I aircraft LL 810 was shot down near Litchervelde, Belgium during a night attack on the Marshalling Yards at Rother-Erde, Aachen, Germany. Pilot Officer F.G. Lebano, Flying Officer M. Shapiro, and four of the crew, not Canadians, were also killed.
