103 Squadron (Noli Me Tangere). Target - Munich, Germany. Lancaster BI aircraft NN 766 was on fire as it circled the village of Commune De Hodreoberg, France. The aircraft crashed on a hilltop and the bombs exploded on impact. Flying Officer R.J. Lougheed, FSs M. Greenstein, D.J. McAuley, D.F. Campbell, Warrant Officer M.H. Home, and Sergeant R.P. Candy (RAF) were also killed. A memorial has been erected at the crash sight.
