78 Squadron (Nemo Non Paratus). Halifax aircraft LV 816 went down near Gohre, Germany during a trip to Leipzig, Germany. Flying Officer W.S. Wilson and Pilot Officer H.F. Kelter were also killed. Five of the crew, not Canadians, missing believed killed. Warrant Officer McAneeley had been hospitalized on August 24, 1943 with a bullet grazed face caused by enemy action.
