550 Squadron (Per Ignem Vincirnus). Lancaster aircraft PA 995 was shot down and crashed at Schauen, Germany during night ops. against Dessau, Germany. Pilot Officer L.W. Harvey, and Flying Officer J. Buckmaster were also killed. Four RAF members of the crew were taken Prisoners of War. This was Flying Officer Jones' 34th op.
