514 Squadron (Nil Obstare Potest). Target - Villers, Bocage, France. The crew of Lancaster aircraft PB 178 returned from the target and were in a mid-air collision. The aircraft crashed at Pittsham Farm, Midhurst, Essex, England. Pilot Officer A.L. George and three of the crew, not Canadians, were also killed.
