9 Squadron (Per Noctem Volamus). Lancaster aircraft LM 221 crashed near Cour L'Eveque whilst on operations against Culmon, Chalindry, France. Flying Officer J.F. Armstrong, Sergeants A.F. Grieve (RAF), F.E. Shaw (RAF), FSs D.G.W. Brown (RAAF), M.H. Payne (RAAF), and A.D. Tagget (RAAF) were also killed.
