Pilot Officer G Dean (RCAF), Sergeant SW Clarke (RAFVR)(Nfld), and Sergeant RS Conroy (RAFVR) were all killed when their Boston III aircraft W 8367 was shot down at Campo Verano, Rome, Italy whilst attacking roads north and east of Rome

Initially buried near the crash site, they were all exhumed and re-buried at the Beach Head War Cemetery
