ED-937 was the second Lanc in line to bomb the Eder Dam on the Dambusters Raid. The bomb hit the top of the dam (released late) and exploded under the aircraft.
Aircraft limped home but flew off course near the Dutch border, and over an oil storage facility on the bank of the Rhine. It was hit by flak and crashed at Osterholtweg, Klein-Netterden, Emmerich, Nordrhein-Westfalen Germany.
