The crew of Bolingbroke aircraft 9113 were engaged in a routine gunnery exercise when their aircraft was seen to dive into Lake Erie, near the B1 target, one half mile off Peacocks Point, New York, USA. Leading Aircraftman H.P. Burnep, Pilot Officer K. Slater (RAAF), Leading Aircraftman S.S. Schwartz, and Leading Aircraftman J.S. Williams (RAF) were killed.
