49 Squadron (Cave Canern). Lancaster aircraft 4 ED 785 missing over enemy-held territory. One Canadian, Sergeant Webb, was taken Prisoner of War. Flying Officer R.C. Blythe (RAF), Sergeants J. Burnside (RAF), H. Buttrey (RAF), G.S. Underlin (RAF), and Squadron Leader G.G. Storey were also killed. One other member of the crew, not Canadian, missing believed killed.
