Aircraft was shot down by a night fighter over the Freidrichshain district in NE Berlin. Bodies of the crew were initially buried at the Lazarett in Doberitz district.
Post war authorities were unable to locate the bodies at Doberitz, hence their place on the Runnymede Memorial.
