St. Desir War Cemetery, France 78 Squadron (Nemo Non Paratus). Shot down by a night fighter and crashed at La Brosse, Droué, Loir-et-Cher, Centre-Val de Loire, France. Six RAF members of the crew, Sergeants L. Austin, J.R. Cowen, G.N. Cox, G.H.C. Home, J.E. Taylor, and Warrant Officer A. Berry were also killed. Flight Sergeant Air Gunner Barkwell is buried in the St Desir War Cemetery, Calvados, France along with the rest of the crew. Addendum: The complete crew are all buried in the same cemetery.
