The Halifax was returning from an operation against the Marshalling Yards in Dusseldorf, Germany. The bomber crashed at Grosage, Chievres, Hainaut, Belgium
Sergeant JB Anderson (RCAF) Sergeant WN Collins (RAF), Sergeant J Fuller (RAFVR), Sergeant AAS Heggie (RAFVR), Sergeant TP McHale (RAFVR), Pilot Officer J McGregor-Cheers (RAFVR), and Pilot Officer VM Markham (RAFVR) were all killed in action.
