Stirling aircraft ran out of fuel on the return from an Op to Genoa, Italy and crashed at Cliffe-at-Hoo, five miles north of Rochester, Kent, England.
Lilian May McPherson, 21 of Cliffe-at-Hoo was killed in one of the cottages hit by the aircraft. Her 10 week old daughter survived,
